Travel Itinerary

Day 1 (Paro - Thimphu)

On arrival at Paro airport, you will be met by The Jewels of the Dragon Tours and Adventure representative. On completion of airport formalities, there will be an interesting drive of about 1hour 20 minutes to reach Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. Take a leisure walk around the town. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2 (Thimphu - Punakha)

Drive to Punakha to watch the magnificient mask Dances and Traditional singing, especially performed to commemorate the completion of the Dzong “Drubchen”. On the way, stop at Dochula for Refreshment. Here one can see the magical view of Himalayan Ranges if the weather is clear. Check-in the hotel. Afternoon; drive to the dzong to watch the festival. Here you can see a large crowd of people with the finest attires. Late afternoon, drive back to the hotel for overnight stay.
 

Day 3 (Punakha)

Morning, drive to the Dzong to watch the festival. Drive back for lunch at the Hotel. Afternoon again engage with the festival and late afternoon visit the dzong. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4 (Punakha - Wangduephodrang - Paro)

Morning Excursion to Wangdue and visit wangdue Phodrang dzong. Continue drive to Paro. En route stop at Thimphu for lunch. Resume drive to Paro. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5 (Paro)

In the morning, visit Ta Dzong. Once a watchtower, built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century, Ta Dzong was inaugurated as National Museum in 1968 and also visit Rinpung Dzong. After lunch drive up the valley to view the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, 18 km. from Paro town on the north side of the valley. It was constructed to commemorate the victory against the Tibetan invaders. If the weather is clear you can even see the glorious view of mountain Jhomolhari. While driving back, visit Paro Kyichu lhakhang, 7 century Temple. Late evening perhaps visit some Handicrafts. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 6 (Paro - Departure)

After breakfast, drive to Paro airport for flight to onward destination. The representative of The Jewels of the Dragon Tour and Adventure will see off with bid farewell.
